Gel-X extensions are a stronger, more durable version of press-ons. These clear, full-coverage tips allow LED light to penetrate through. Unlike standard nail glue that lasts only a day or two, Gel-X tips are adhered and cured to the natural nail using a designated glue and LED lamps. Then, filed to desired length and polished with gel polish. With proper prep and application, they offer excellent retention—lasting 2.5 weeks to up to a month. They are lightweight, thinner than acrylic and dip powder, and come in various shapes and lengths that can be customized. I absolutely love them for the lack of damage they cause! Can Gel-X be refilled? Yes! It is highly recommended every 2.5-3.5 weeks and can be refilled up to two times before it is recommended to soak-off the nails. Please Note: I do not perform gel-x fill-ins after the 3.5 week mark. Anything after three and a half weeks will be considered a soak-off/full set or be subjected to a small rebalancing fee.

Adding an overlay of builder gel increases durability for those who enjoy the feel of gel-x extensions, but know they can be rougher on their nails. With proper prep and application, they offer excellent retention—lasting 2.5 weeks to up to a month. Fill-ins are highly recommended every 2.5-3.5 weeks and can be refilled up to two times before it is recommended to soak-off the nails. Please Note: I do not perform gel-x fill-ins after the 3.5 week mark. Anything after three and a half weeks will be considered a soak-off/full set or be subjected to a small rebalancing fee.

Personally, builder gel is my absolute favorite! Think of builder gel as a thicker consistency of your standard gel polish base coat. It helps provide a much more durable structure for your natural nails to grow out with zero to super minimal damage AND lifting. I can confidently say that I’m a builder gel girlie for my own nails and many of my clients, and I, can all collectively agree that it’s life changing! Builder gel sets CAN BE refilled- it is highly recommended every 2.5-3.5 weeks.
